A Claim By Pinterest, Adult Content, Vendors And The Future...

A Pinterest Claim Against Me

I recently received a notice from Pinterest regarding an earlier claim that I had posted content that violated the terms of their end user agreement, even indicating that it was of an adult nature.

Unfortunately, in no way was the actual image posted to Pinterest shown to me, not to mention that between the times indicated that the post was made, I wasn't using Pinterest at that time (under my fav.inbox@gmail.com account rather than my brian.joseph.johns@shhhhdigital.com email).

I've certainly never posted any imagery of an adult nature (sexually explicit or overtly violent) to Pinterest, but it seems that the channels to protest this claim simply do not exist. Perhaps its the "red" side trying to force me over to the "blue" side of the fence (a jump which I will never make lest blue mean water, science, medicine, exercise and health, strength, work, business, or law or Disney).

I never do the blue that means swapping identities with other people, or reversing the context of polarity of expression to its contextual opposite. I never do hate means love or love means hate and I stand against any group that forces people in that direction against their will by deceit or trickery or any means that violate a person's intended path.

I am not opposed to mature content as long as it is only perused by adults, however I would never post anything of that nature myself and never have seeing as the nature of content I produce seldom crosses into that area, not to mention, I'd certainly never post anything depicting self-harm. The closest content that I've ever posted of that nature would have to be some of my characters from Butterfly Dragon who have tattoos (two of which there currently exist). If images of someone with a tattoo (not as they receive it) qualifies as self-harm, then I'd say that's an infringement upon body art rather than an exposé of self harm images.

Getting drunk and carving into yourself with a pin and Indian ink, hoping it will look like a Rembrandt when you sober up, would qualify as self harm. Both the physical harm of gnashing yourself with a pin, and the harm it does when you see your horrible tattoo and realize that you are nowhere near being Rembrandt.

My Stance On Adult Content

Insofar as adult sexual content is concerned, once again, I support every adult's right to pick and choose what they peruse of that nature, whether it be adult restricted films at large chain movie theatres or content of a sexual nature online (R18+ for instance). Sexuality is a very pertinent aspect of existence, though certainly a topic that should be approached from an adult perspective, assuming that most adults realize that depictions of sexuality often don't give a representation of the context of the full nature of adult relationships.

They focus more on the physical and intimate dessert, and there are couples seeking sexual inspiration, and lonely people for whom this aspect gives them something of that nature where they might be lacking it in a healthy manner. Sexuality insofar as it involves adults, is a very healthy thing and an important aspect of intimacy in any relationship and even in solitude. If you are opposed to sexuality, then you must be disgusted that your parents had sex in order to conceive you, I'm assuming?

Some people who've become very isolated by a collectively predatory society, often rely upon this aspect of adult content, not as an escape or disillusionment, but as an affirmation that they too are entitled to aspects of their own private sexuality in a responsible and healthy manner and no church or government or collectively predatory group anywhere has a right to interfere in that aspect of an adult's life.

Insofar as sextortion is concerned, it should be penalized by law enforcement to the highest allowed by law in order to put a stop to it, and I know this from personal experience having been a victim of it by a very abusive cult with ties to organized crime. You'll never understand the harm it can cause in your life until you're a victim of it and this sort of thing is actively practiced by common predatory groups in communities that need to be reigned in by law enforcement.

Steam, Adult Content And Merchant Payment Processing

Insofar as the latest attacks against Steam and other vendors who have on their storefront, content that is of an adult nature, that all comes down to age verification and I think that the issue where it involves Steam, is that a lot of people regard gaming as mostly an activity of children and youths, when in fact a very large percentage of gamers are adults.

I am very proud to say that I am a gamer as well, and see it as an art form still in its infancy that will eventually evelope every aspect of our lives, especially that of physical exercise and training, not to mention education and entertainment. Almost all of the modern technologies very prominent in the news nowadays had their birth as a direct result of the gaming industry. From interface design, to haptics, to floating point and 3D hardware, gaming directly led to the industries (including AI) currently the hotspots of our economy.

Many people are viewing Steam and other store fronts as being like the candy store that decided to add adult content to their shelves, seeing as many people who are looking at these store fronts are looking at it from the outside being primarily used by children and youths. I believe that the two markets, the one catering to children and youths, and the one catering to adults, should be separated or of separate store fronts, however in the case of Steam, they have setup that aspect of the store front very extensively with numerous software walls between the adult and non-adult content, and the responsibility of being mindful of what children and youths have access to falls solely in the laps of parents and caregivers, and not banks and credit card processing companies.

Its good to know that there are groups concerned that they care to protect innocence (it is certainly in line with my thoughts about the Butterfly Dragon, being the creator thereof), but I believe that this has overstepped an important boundary of innocence. However, the fact that so much attention has been drawn to this issue is a good step towards figuring it all out to the ends of really protecting innocence, though not just that of children, but of adults as well in the sense that sexuality is not an affront to innocence, but very profoundly connected to it in a way that is difficult to understand or accept for collectively predatory groups.

Insofar as the real issues involved are concerned, there does need to be a means of age verification, but that also poses a risk to be misused by collectively predatory groups who will certainly use it to lock adults they singled out, to deny them access to certain content to which they have a right, including locking them out of places where they should be free to discuss their praise or dissent for society, the church or any other predatory groups that seek to limit their rights or that seek to harm innocence in a holistic sense. Innocence belongs to all of us, children and adults alike.

Insofar as illegal gaming content is concerned, where it clearly involves content that violates regional laws and puts women, children or youth at risk, that should be handled by courts or tribunals on a case by case basis or by a specific regional authority that acts independently of the vendor, and cannot be manipulated by outside predatory groups seeking to harm the rights of responsible adults. The front line for the protection of children starts at home with the parents and caregivers.

For Your Thoughts

We can't legislate and enforce what people are allowed to "think" or "think about", we can only expect that they'll act responsibly and that it will be enforced when they don't.

Regardless, I posted no harmful content on Pinterest and I stand firm on that response, regardless of their judgement on the matter.

However, this had got me thinking that maybe at some point, though I've never done it before, perhaps I might write something of an adult nature along the lines of Lady Chatterly's Lover, one of the first books that drew controversy for its sexual nature and explicit language, especially from collectively predatory church groups of the time.

Updates

There will be updates this week. I can't say what, but they are definitely going to happen. I released a new audiobook episode of Tales of the Sanctum: Era of the Spellbound last week, and seeing as I've gone ahead with the retcon of Tales of the Sanctum and Butterfly Dragon, I'll be focusing on that aspect with my newest content.

I hope that you enjoy what's coming up this week!

I don't play guitar and I've never owned a guitar by the way but its a great instrument in the hands of a skilled player. Even the songs I published on YouTube like Just An Illusion and Timelessness that sound like guitar, are all played on MIDI keyboard and hand recorded live performances by me. I'm not a guitar player.

No, I don't have a "brown skin" fetish and never have and my love interest is Southeast Asian but she's not Filipino with all due respect. I'm not from Nova Scotia and have never been there in my life, nor is my father from there nor has he ever lived there.
