A Few Remarks Regarding Recent Events
Divide And Conquer
In modern society, the underlying organized chaos in the form of manipulative groups of nasty people tends to play us each in a dualistic dichotomy of bifurcation. Sorting us out from a vast allegiance of people who share common interests and goals despite our differences, to isolated cliques and individuals based upon what I just described: bifurcation.
Bifurcation is kind of like a tournament championship ladder, where two concepts or idioms are played one against the other according to the biases of specific individuals or groups. So for example, believers versus non-believers. Vaxxers versus non-vaxxers. Workers versus the unemployed. Educated versus the non-educated, the old versus the young and so on.
Each bias we make with regard to one of the two sides of these dichotomies, leads yet to another, ever diminishing our social allegiances and isolating us. Its actually a method by which some nasty people attempt to divide and conquer us and the social illusion we've built around ourselves.
Most such dichotomies are frivolous, like pitting the fans of one type of music against another or players of particular instruments against players of other instruments. Usually, frivolous battles in this arena are fought over subjective issues (rather than objective) and hence have no real "winning" determinant based upon fact. Like having two people fight over which colour is better, red or blue or whose the better poet, Dickinson or Frost? Anyway, the end result is that we end up more and more isolated.
Vaxxers Versus Anti-Vaxxers
Certain issues that involve this sort of thing (bifurcation as explained in the earlier paragraphs) often do have serious consequences with regard to the outcome of the overall winner in society. Like the issue of vaxxers versus anti-vaxxers.
When you consider the journey through this pandemic, and all the lives that have been lost, the issue of vaxxer versus anti-vaxxer becomes very serious and is tantamount to the potential saving of lives.
There are sites that expose social influencers who've spread anti-vaxxer rhetoric online and off (I won't include the link here because I'm against doxxing).
Of particular interest to anti-vaxxers should be the HermanCainAward Reddit, which as this CNBC article explains: is filled with stories of people who mocked Covid-19 vaccines before eventually dying from the disease.
Kind of like fighting for the right to bear arms in public, and then getting shot by someone who is utilizing that right during the commission of a robbery. At least they had a license for the firearm they used to kill during the robbery, or it was a stolen licensed firearm.
Keep in mind this post is coming from someone who occasionally plays first person shooter games such as Rainbow Six Siege and Call Of Duty. One thing everyone needs to remember is that there's a big difference between pixels on a screen and real life. If you can't tell the difference, then you're bound to lose one of them, or both.
Objectivity: The Real Data
Consider that globally, as of January 24, 2022, 5.6 million people have died according to the COVID-19 Worldmeter, one of the resources I first shared when this pandemic started nearly two years ago.
That's one sixth of the population of Canada and nearly the entire population of the Greater Toronto Area, Canada's largest city.
The only reason that number is so small, is because of the world effort towards the rapid creation and deployment of the vaccine. If we didn't commit to this as a global community, the death toll, even with social distancing measures would likely be up towards 10 to 15 million globally at this point and rising rapidly.
That calculation is based upon a paper by the American National Institute Of Health where I dissected the numbers and came up with an approximation based upon the paper's findings and the impact that increased cases would have to affect the further spread of the virus. As a programmer, I love numbers by the way and I'm guessing that there's more Zheng Ni Wong in me than I know 😉.
That estimate doesn't account for the fact that healthcare systems globally would have been completely overrun and likely led to harsh measures (such as Martial Law) to manage the situation. So the vaccine actually saved us from approaching the likeness of world dystopian statehood, rather than defiling our freedoms as anti-vaxxers are claiming. If we'd reached that point, the people who'd have been anti-vaxxers instead would likely have been instigated into a coup in many countries, leading possibly to a mass regime change and/or even sparking a global conflict in the process. Let's just say that the death toll in that case wouldn't have been exclusively the result of COVID-19.
Further that isn't to say that having the military oversee the peaceful protection of health institutions would have been a step towards dystopia. However, it certainly would have been seen in such a light by those in fear of losing their freedoms. In the confusion, we could have potentially lost much, much more.
What Is The Underlying Problem?
The one thing we shouldn't do though is vilify anti-vaxxers. They're frightened by many factors as are well all. Our lives have been completely upended and our stability in society has caused many people to re-evaluate their life priorities globally. There's bound to a lot of stress in such a situation, but lets examine the facts about what truly is having an impact upon our freedoms, rather than rally against that which is actually protecting them. Fighting for freedom, without life, is both a waste of life and freedom. The vaccine is protecting our freedoms, because when the hospitals and healthcare system are overrun and people are outside of hospitals and Government institutions demaning healthcare and a solution, that's the stuff of nightmares for any society. Just ask Kazakhstan.
The one thing that people might want to ask themselves is are you unwittingly being drawn into conflicts by malicious people, and then directing your tensions at people that have nothing to do with that malice at all?
We're all being challenged by that hidden chaos in the form of malicious people, attempting to lure us into the road of narcissism and self involvement so that we lose our foresight and sensibility. On a daily basis I struggle against a bunch of bullies who claim to be controlling me. Like my body is a vehicle they simply jump into and drive around the block. Anything I say and do when they claim to be driving, they steal from me, claiming it came from someone else. That leads me to take efforts to protect myself and my work, that to someone on the outside, would make me appear narcissistic or self involved. Its a manipulation and I'm certain its something we're all facing in one form or another, and for certain, its tailored to each one of us. To pick at our weaknesses and to distract us from progressing in life.
How It Comes At You Isn't How It Comes At Others
From my perspective, its an attack on Quantum Physics and the Schodinger Equation. Where if you're wearing a mask, you have the potential to be just about anyone given the other physical features that identify you such as height, weight, eye colour etc.
When you take off the mask, the wave function collapses and it is definite to others that you are yourself and the person that you claim to be. Its there right in the proof of your face. Its the concept of identity and self that's under attack and if you fall for it, you might become an anti-masker all in order to retain your identity. Then they might try some other manipulation to push you to become an anti-vaxxer. Manipulative people who are essentially the culmination of this underlying force of chaos for some of us, and likely the source of what's driving people towards anti-mask and anti-vaccine movements.
Ask yourself, who would have to gain from manipulating the creation of such a movement? Especially if they're driving us towards a situation where the medical community is completely overrun and our Governments end up having to enact Martial Law to manage the resulting chaos. Then that would fuel more people to rise up against their Governments and we'd all truly be in the hands of chaos. Many, many deaths would be sure to follow.
And The Verdict Is...
So the real threat to our freedoms isn't the vaccine at all because the vaccine is actually protecting our freedoms. The real threat here is but an underlying malice that seems to have gripped some people, who are employing that malice against others to exploit our fears of losing our freedom and identity. Our sense of self. Especially those in isolation, and that I'd be willing to bet is the source of the vast majority of this angst. Without it, we likely could have weathered this pandemic hands down and come out running.
My advice is to stay away from that as best you can. The people using bifurcation to play us one against the other. Making issues of identity and self such a social battleground where they're attempting to take that from us. Those trying to purposely rouse us and radicalize us. It will catch up with them sooner or later, but we can't allow ourselves to fall to the kind of malice they're subjecting us to. Stick to your compass and if you don't have one, get one.
Ukraine And Russia
Also, with regard to the issue of Russia's possible invasion of Ukraine, I support the independence of the Ukraine and a peaceful end to this standoff. I am a very fond ally of Russia, and have been for most of my life, having seen it born from the collapse of the Soviet Union. These are very trying times for us all, and we're definitely on the brink of unrivaled discoveries and accomplishments while at the same time at the precipice of disaster. Those of us riding the peaks of this turbulent sea must not let ourselves become manipulated by the chaotic forces that would turn us towards conflict and violence. Especially with things so much at stake.
Clarification Of Confusion
I watched Robocop 2 the other day on TubiTV (it's free and legal). As many of you know, I'm a secular atheist that leans towards Buddhism and Taoism, but I really like that movie for its sarcastic commentary on a dystopian society, though it does tend to vilify corporations, which I don't believe the enemy is business or trade. As you've read in my Butterfly Dragon books, big business has the potential to be our greatest ally or most dire enemy, all depending upon whose at the helm.
In Robocop 2, the drug Nuke is a stand-in for crack cocaine or crystal meth in our reality, and which has had a substantial impact upon us and Government policy in order to cope with the problem. The drug Nuke is "red", while most other aspects of the movie are symbolized as "blue" (such as the Police and business for instance).
My advice is not to read too much into that when it comes to applying the allegory to real society, as the concepts of red and blue and other colours vary from country to country and culture to culture. So what is symbolized by red here in Canada, can be very different from what's symbolized in the United States, or Great Britain, or France, or Korea or Japan and China. Not to mention, colours as symbols are in constant motion and never solidify to any one thing, nor should they. That would be like telling everyone how to interpret a painting, when you're dealing with something subjective.
I'm one of those people who strongly believes there's a group of people that spy on or siphon from our internet connection, keeping a close eye on what we use online and what content we create. This is certainly the case especially with influencers. Despite my small audience (according to my web stats), I seem to have a hidden influence, hence I'm likely someone that would be watched in this way.
Someone To Watch Over Me
When my expressed views and opinions seem to go one direction, especially when I'm writing or posting to Shhhh! Digital Media, I'll suddenly lose my internet connection for about five minutes, and then it will come back again and my harassers will treat me as if I'm someone completely different from the person I was before the connection was broken and reconnected. As if my point of presence is being switched to appear to be coming from one origin to another. My own apartment is 200 Sherbourne Street Apt. 701 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but perhaps the cable connecting to a hub somewhere outside of my apartment is being switched so that it appears that what comes from my computer is coming from another location. Perhaps another apartment in the same building? Perhaps another location in Toronto? Who knows. My point is that the people doing this want to make it appear like what I'm saying online is coming from someone else other than my own person, Brian Joseph Johns.
The point I'm getting to is that because I watched Robocop 2, and the drug Nuke in that movie was delivered by injection, it would seem that from the point of watching that movie, there were people that suddenly thought that the person whose computer watched that movie (mine), is an anti-vaxxer. In other words, the people watching my internet connection (who I assume are likely organized crime in the form of malicious neighbours), based my identity upon what I watch online, what I write in terms of the content at Shhhh! Digital Media such as A Lady's Prerogative III: Singularity and The Butterfly Dragon and my YouTube channel so it coincides with that expression in some way. Most of what I achieve online is taken from me and attributed to other people by this organized crime group that watches my internet connection. It might sound paranoid but its not. There's real credence to what I'm saying and lots and lots of real factual evidence to support it.
Ironically in the middle of writing this post, my internet similarly dropped within three minutes of my claiming to be a Secular Atheist that leans towards Buddhism and Taoism. Hence, they like what I say, as long as I don't try to claim the credit for it because they appear to want to take it and make it appear to be coming from someone else, perhaps a member of their ideology or religion. They don't like the fact that I'm an Atheist, or Secular or even leaning towards Buddhism and Taoism.
To return to my point, what I'm saying to you on the internet and who might be reading this page directly through the web at https://www.shhhhdigital.ca is that its very different from the impression that is given as to where it comes from. If what I'm watching or writing or working on appears to benefit one side of the fence, then my internet connection is redirected to appear to be originating from a different place other than my own address. Who knows what they're trying to implicate is coming from my address in place of what they're taking.
Like my having watched Robocop 2. I strongly am against narcotics like crack cocaine and crystal meth, but believe in harm reduction programs as being the best method of dealing with the challenges. I am certainly not an anti-vaxxer at all and never have been. In fact, I'm double vaccinated.
Summary
In all likelihood we're all dealing with similar struggles. Where a chaotic bunch of people are twisting us in ways that suit their needs, and there's an underlying network (that isn't the internet) making all of this possible. Making some of us seem to flip flop on issues in ways that would benefit the group doing this rather than society or the person using the internet as such a form of expression.
So keep in mind that this chaos might be making what comes from Shhhh! Digital appear to originate from places that it doesn't. This site is Shhhh! Digital Media and this is the real home of the Butterfly Dragon (the one about the four superheroes, Butterfly Dragon, Night Style, Eclipse and Valkyra) and A Lady's Prerogative (the one about the three Wytches Mila, Shaela and Nelony). This is the real location where it is written and has been since 2012 (though I started writing them in 2010 near Main Street and Danforth Avenue in Toronto). I hope that clarifies my stance on issues as I haven't spoken on these matters in some time.
I'm taking a break from writing Singularity for now, but I might be back at it by tomorrow. I've got some health issues that are interfering with some aspects of my life in the form of a bad hip and knees thanks to a lot of physical wear and tear earlier in my life. Thankfully there's no wear and tear on the brain. Its very exhausting dealing with that kind of pain, though thankfully I can walk very well, but its very difficult to sleep and to get up in the morning.
Also, my phone bit the dust recently, requiring me to Macgyver another together quickly from an old android phone (Android 6.0!). However, much better than no phone.
Also, nobody is controlling me except me. Its not like I'm Neo from the Matrix, being driven around by Tank, or something of that nature. As a matter of fact, I'm not any other character from those movies either, though they certainly are good stories and inspired by some great works of fiction by the likes of the late Harlan Ellison and Isaac Asimov.
