A Lady's Prerogative For Hallow's Eve: What Superstition Wields (Finished First Draft: Artwork to come)

This is my yearly Halloween story, though last year I kind of wove the Halloween and Santa Claus story into one if you remember and came up with a funny bit involving Barris and Sato early on in their friendship as they have guests for the seasonal holiday. This year I'm bringing Halloween and A Lady's Prerogative home to my country of Canada and my home province of Ontario. This story takes place in Ontario, though far north up into territory occupied by far fewer than in the Great Lakes region of Canada (and the United States). I hope that you enjoy it. As a side note, I recently did a rant post (the Rant-zilla post if you recall as it was the last one) really attacking the problem of harassment, as it has been plaguing me for years in both the online world (very covertly) and the offline world very overtly. Everything I stated in that post I meant with all of my heart and being, and I will not apologize for any of it. This has already gone way too far, and a post of that nat

New Release Of Network Connection Scheduler...

Network Connection Scheduler originally started out as a utility I was developing for Windows that would disable selected Network Connections according to a schedule.

After a lot of work with the project, I decided to streamline the program to focus on making its core functionality much different from what was originally released here on Shhhh! Digital Media, yet so much more useful and powerful as a security measures tool for any Windows system.

The program has been renamed NIC Nix which was the original name, the acronym standing for Network Interface Card *Nix* and believe me, it operates exactly as named though not so drastically as it might sound.

The program merely disables selected Network Connections (your choice which ones) based upon how long your system has been idle ie no mouse or keyboard input, between 120 and 60000 seconds.

The interface itself is pretty much self explanatory, its really very simple. On the About box, you'll find the means to have the program run with every Windows startup as pictured below:

So, you can now download this new version here on this post, or on the software page here on Shhhh! Digital Media. This version has been thoroughly tested, though if you should run into any trouble please feel free to drop me a line at for bug reports, feedback or suggestions.

Books And Chapter Updates...

I'll be posting the latest update to A Lady's Prerogative II: Wounded Aerth tonight some time (if I can get through the edits after a long coding session). Also I'm aiming at the end of the month for the the Epilogue to The Butterfly Dragon II: What Different Eyes See.

After the Epilogue is published, I'll be hard at work on The Butterfly Dragon III and posting weekly updates, each including multiple chapters. I'll alternate between chapters for BFD and A Lady's Prerogative III, after the final bit of Wounded Aerth is posted. Between all of that, I'll be working on art work for the books as well which I'll add to the posted chapters over time.

Beyond that, I'm also working on other projects, some related to A Lady's Prerogative and some their own thing. One of these projects might bring the stories to life in a more accessible medium, though that effort is limited by my time and finances.

I'm enjoying a great night of music (Spotify), food and drink, listening to a variety of classic alternative, electronic and ambient music and I hope that you're out there enjoying your night too.

Again, thank you to the SQTI and Shi Fu Dao Shi for last night's meditation class, which has proven very helpful thus far.

Have a great night!
